Hey Everyone,
My name is Abby Lewis and I am working toward's my masters in Early Childhood Education. I am 23 (almost 24 in April) and I live in a very small town in rural Alabama. I am a Baptist and love attending church and worshiping the Lord. To me, I define diversity as simply being different. In my classroom, I see a lot of diversity among my children whether it be reading level, math knowledge, or even the simple way that they retain knowledge. I believe children learn in their own way and it is our jobs as educators to find that way and teach them to the best of our ability. If we as teachers do not know the way in which our students learn, then we are effecting their achievement and hindering their successes. I come from a very big family, and I have 5 rambunctious nephews and 2 beautiful nieces. I have a wonderful boyfriend whom I love spending time in the woods with hunting and/or fishing. This is my second year teaching and I honestly love waking up every day to go see my sweet babies. I am excited to learn a lot from this course!
